His coaching style is supportive, calm and adaptable, meeting paddlers where they are and helping them move forward at a pace that feels right.

James spends the majority of his professional time as the Co-owner and Director of Sea Kayaking Cornwall. Leveraging this extensive experience and his deep understanding of the industry, he offers specialised Technical Advisor Services for clubs and centres looking to elevate their safety and delivery standards.

He is also supported by and works in collaboration with several other premium brands, including P&H Sea Kayaks, Lettmann Paddles, Gram Kajak, Reed Chillcheater, Whetman Equipment, Sea Flow Designs and Kayak Carrier Systems (KCS). These partnerships ensure he is always utilising the most reliable gear, allowing for peak performance in any conditions.

When not coaching or guiding, James can usually be found exploring new sections of coastline, researching tide races or planning longer expeditions further afield. That ongoing curiosity and time on the water feeds directly back into An Mor Kayak, ensuring every trip and course is rooted in current experience, local knowledge and a genuine love of the sea.

An Mor Kayak was created from a deep connection to the Cornish coast and a belief that sea kayaking is one of the best ways to truly experience it. From quiet coves and rugged headlands to tide races and open crossings, Cornwall offers world class paddling if you know how and when to be there.

An Mor Kayak is about more than just getting on the water. It is about understanding the sea, building confidence through skill and judgement and developing the ability to make good decisions in dynamic coastal environments. Whether coaching, guiding or exploring, the focus is always on safe, progressive paddling that respects the environment and embraces the adventure.

As the home of Cornish sea kayaking, our primary goal is to celebrate and promote the sport across our unique coastline. Through our blog, we share a wealth of experience and resources, offering a platform for paddlers to discover new perspectives and deepen their connection to the sea.
